Class update April 2025

Welcome to the new edition of the class update. This is effective from April 2025.

Current classes

We currently have regular classes in 3 locations in Tunbridge Wells. Classes run throughout the year with breaks during Christmas or due to other commitments. Please note that classes may be cancelled at short notice due extreme weather conditions.

All classes are suitable for beginners to advance level students.

The schedule effective from April 2025.

If you're interested in joining these classes, please let me which class you wish to attend. In order to guarantee your place, payment of fees will need to be paid in advance.

Spaces are limited and in order to give students enough space, there will be a maximum of 12 per class. Due to issues of no-shows, fees are required to be paid in advance. Payment of fees are to be made by BACs.

St. Luke's Tunbridge Wells

Back in spring 2023, we introduced a Qigong class. Whilst we do include Qigong in my other classes, this class concentrates on just Qigong. In this class, we explore various concepts that are both practical and meaningful. We are the only club in this area to offer Phoenix Qigong and Master Joe Lok's Qigong style.

There is parking at the church. Please be considerate, as this is a residential area.

Hawkenbury United Reformed Church

We currently run 2 classes at Hawkenbury United Reformed Church. Classes will be in the large hall. The earlier class from 6.30pm is suitable for beginners and intermediate students. The later class is for for experienced students only. Due to risks, martial arts insurance is required.

There is parking nearby, if you're driving. Please be considerate, as this is a residential area

Tai Chi in the Park @Dunorlan Park

For those who enjoy training outdoors, we have a regular class on the Terrace at Dunorlan Park. This class is suitable for beginners and intermediate level students. I have set up a Facebook group page and updates regarding Tai Chi in the Park will be posted there. If it rains, we will meet in the space under the café.

Will you have more classes?

At the moment, no there won't be more classes. I have other commitments and class wise I wish to focus on providing quality, not quantity.

Do you teach courses?

This is a question I get asked a lot. The answer is, no I don't. From experience and from observations. Tai Chi and Qigong don't lend themselves well in a course setting. Both Tai Chi and Qigong are very sophisticated arts and it would be difficult to learn and digest in a set amount of time. Then there is the question of your schedule and whether you can make time to commit to this course. If you miss out on a few sessions, then you feel you're left behind. Also, you might want to ask yourself if a course provides value for money? At White Horse Tai Chi, we prefer a relaxed approach, where students come and learn at their own pace.

Private tuition

I do offer private tuition and if you're interested, please contact me regarding availability and let me know what you'd like to learn. Fees will need to be paid in advance and are not refundable due to cancellations.
